Reached bangalore around 8.45 am in the morning. That is always awesome being ere, but that day was something different. YES! That was the day when the bangaloreans would celebrate the last episode of the legendary show #TATW450 and the first episode of the new show #ABGT001 by Above & Beyond.... 10/11/12....
As usual checked in a hotel, took a quick nap and then was off to meet one of my friend near my college where I studied before. Around 12.30 was rushing to gather some stuff. By far i was late to the venue and missed Achary's set. Pearl had started playing a perfect opening set and must say, while she was playing the closing track and the GIANT LED screen showed Tony shaking a leg in the studio from where #TATW450 & #ABGT001 would be streamed to 32 million people across the WORLD. And there were the perfect hosts for the the perfect night rather day... Nikhil Chinapa & Rohit Barker.
Now that was 4 pm and a time to stream the legendary show to the world and the mighty Jody Wisternoff on the decks. Mahn! 4 pm & thousands had started stomping their feet at Jayamahal; Palace. Though I did not dance much, but must say, that was a perfect one to start the day off. HE's the man who has the perfect mixing ability.
Then came ANDREW BAYER to set Jayamahal Palace ablaze with some wicked tunes. He played one of the best opening tracks I've ever heard. Whattay stomping set.... The crowd was literally set ablaze by his set, take a bow.
Then the duo Norin & Rad took the crowd on another mode with their set and the antics as well. By the time, the venue was rammed with 6000 jumpin' people on their kickass tunes.
MAT ZOoooooo !!!! How I fuckin' loved him. he was the only reason why i was here. His set was the proof of his experience in DJ'ing over the years. He played one of the best classics of all time, some acoustic versions and everything seemed DREAM-COME-TRUE!! And the closing track...... That just dropped my pants off.
So now the time was to get the legends on the stage.... 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and ABOVE & BEYOND live from BANGAALOREEE, INDIA and I guessed 32 million people were dancing along with we special 6000 of'em. 32 million listeners, 6000 people watching them live, 100s of policemen, 3 legends, the whole Submerge crew, 1 venue was all nonetheless MAGICAL. The best part of the set was, they were communicating with the crowd through THE GIANT LED screen. That was just a magnanimous feeling. the best track was Black room boy. The last half an hour was so fuckin' emotional, almost everyone was into tears there. Nikhil was totally amazed by the reaction and love & affection given to to him & submerge. He thanked Above & Beyond, The cops, The Submerge crew, everyone who was present there.
